UK broadband recommendations?

12th April 2008, 300 views

Anyone got any recommendations for UK broadband suppliers (ADSL)? I wouldn't imagine I'll be there for a full year, so being tied into a one year contract is most defintely not desirable. Thanks.

I recommend BeThere. Having worked as tech support for a couple of ISPs (Cable & Wireless and CompuServe, back in the day) I learned a lot about how ISPs are run and what it takes to make a good one. I can't fault them, at all. They're honest about the service you'll get, their tech support people really know their stuff (even though they're based in Europe somewhere) and their service is very reliable. Plus, the contract's only 3 months.

The only ADSL company I would use and recommend with out hesitation is Zen ADSL.

Just use the comparison feature on adslguide.org.uk

Zen win on every category nearly all the time.

Well I've heard of them, which is a bonus. But from what I read off of their website, there doesn't seem to be an option for unlimited access. I probably wouldn't run in to a limit, but I just don't like the idea of it being a possibility. An example of this would be downloading a new OS (eg Linux) which would quickly eat the allowance.

I would say go with http://fast.co.uk - after the horrors we had with Talk-Talk and their evening slowdowns due to overselling their services on a small pipe - they are worth the extra cash. Fantastic phone support too.

Check out http://dslzoneuk.net/ too.
