Licensing of the code

All code on this site is licensed under the PHPGuru license. You can read the license below.

FAQs

Do I need to buy a license? Yes, you need a license to use anything either for yourself or your clients. You can read the exact terms in the license itself below.

How much is a license? A license is a one-time fee of £49 (UK pounds). That's roughly $80 (US dollars) at todays (23rd October 2009) exchange rate.

Why should I buy a license? My entire income comes from licenses, allowing me to continue to write code, and make it available to you on my website. So by buying a license, you contribute to that.

Where can I read the license? The license is further down this page.

What does the license cover? The license covers all of the code on this site that was written by me - code, examples, not graphics (but does include the RGraph HTML5 canvas graphing library).

What if I'm a web design firm? If you're a web design firm or individual then you only need to buy a license once and you can reuse the code as much as you please, and all of your ongoing clients will fall under your license.

Can you send me an invoice? Of course. Simply enter your email address in this box and you'll be sent an invoice that you can use for tax purposes.

Is there a charity/educational discount available? Yes - there's a discounted license available for both registered charities and educational institutes/students. Please email me if you're interested in this.

Example graph made using RGraph

If you're interested in web development, then you may also be interested in RGraph: HTML5 canvas graph library. It uses HTML5 features to produce a wide variety of graph types. Because it moves the creation of graphs from the server to the client, it can significantly reduce the load on your server and your bandwidth usage.
